All the arrangements are being finalised in the provincial capital to celebrate the 58th independence Day with great enthusiasm and renewed commitment to make Pakistan prosperous, strong and progressive.
The day will dawn with a salvo of 21-gun salute. Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Muhammad Yousaf will perform the flag-hosting ceremony in the lawns of Balochistan Assembly. One minute silence will he observed at sharp 7:58 and all traffic will be stopped in the honour of the day with the sound of siren.
District administration has also made special arrangement to celebrate the day. Acting City Nazim and District Co-ordination Officers (DCO), Rao Shakil Ahmed will perform flag-hoisting ceremony in Town Hall, National anthem would be played, Police band will present their performance.
Colourful arches will be erected on main bazaars and roads, colourful buntings with national slogans and banners will also be displayed at vintage points. Anjuman Tajiran and Chamber of Commerce will also participate in the decoration of bazaars and markets.
Executive District Officer (EDO) Education will organise a Quarnic recitation, Naat and national song competition. Inter-school sports championship will also be held on this auspicious day at Special High School Quetta.
The declamation contests will be held to highlight the life and achievements of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, significance of National Ideology and the Pakistan Movement. Boy Scouts Association will organise a walk.
The DCO said law enforcement agencies had been put on high alert in order to maintain law and order situation. Traffic police would make special arrangements for smooth flow of traffic on Zarghoon Road, Jinnah Road, Liaqat Bazar and Inscomb Road on the day.
He said special prayers would be offered for the country' s progress, prosperity and early liberation of Indian Occupied Kashmir.
Newspapers and journals would publish special supplements, features and articles highlighting the significance of the day. A programme for special children would he arranged at Governor Houses and cycle decorating competitions for children would also be held, he said.
Apart from the official arrangements to celebrate the auspicious occasion, roads and streets are being decorated with national flags and buntings.
