The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police challaned 220 vehicles during a special checking campaign on Friday. The activity was conducted as a part of a protocol flag march in response to special directives by the interior ministry to check crime at the grassroots level.
According to details, the police conducted a special checking for three hours in which more than 3000 vehicles were checked and 200 were challaned due to non-availability of registration books, having tinted glasses, etc.
The emergency checking was conducted in the busy areas like Jinnah Avenue, Khayaban-e-Soharwardee and Constitution Avenue, Super Market, Jinnah Super and F-10 markets.
Earlier, the march started from Police Headquarters and ended in front of Rescue 15 office in sector G-8. Inspector General Police Chaudhry Iftikhar and SSP Sikander Hayat headed the march.
