Brazil's 2005/06 (July/June) coffee crop forecast was revised up to 33.33 million 60-kg bags, from 32.46 million bags seen in April, the agriculture ministry said on Friday.
In the third official new crop forecast, the government revised up arabica output to 24.25 million bags, from 23.26 million bags projected previously. Robustas were seen lower at 9.08 million bags, from 9.20 million bags in April.
Brazil produced 38.6 million bags of coffee in 2004/05, of which 31.1 million bags were arabicas and 7.5 million bags were robustas.
Brazilian coffee growers had expected the crop to be revised below 30 million bags due to dry growing conditions early this year and lack of fertiliser and other crop inputs.
Trader guess-estimates were mostly around 34 million to 35 million bags.
