The Karachi Port handled 68,089 tonnes of cargo including 47,101 tonnes import and 20,988 tonnes export cargo during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The cargo comprised of 50,269 tonnes dry cargo including 33,436 tonnes general cargo; 4,300 tonnes rice; 786 tonnes cement; 3,170 tonnes sugar; 8,577 tonnes scrap and 17,820 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo.
Seven ships namely Ever Guard, Yang Jiang He, Troyburg, Cape Bona Vista, Xiang Rui Men, Bow De Jin and Hannibal-II sailed out to sea during the report period.
Four vessels viz Cape Bona Vista, Apl Pusan, Eax Sanctity and Blue Star are currently at the berths.
MT Asha Ashik expected to sail on Wednesday, while three vessels viz Asian Gyro, Blue Star and Pontoporos are expected to sail on Thursday.
Four ships namely Hyundai Highway, YM Sun, PAC Antlia and Asian Gyro due to arrive on Wednesday, while five vessels viz YM Faha, Kota Wangsa, Golden Express, Shang Yuan Men and Tilos are due to arrive on Thursday.
The cargo comprised of 49,000 tonnes diesel oil; 7,931 tonnes edible oil; 8,000 tonnes chemicals; 8,024 tonnes seeds; 1,030 tonnes rice and 33,507 tonnes containerised cargo.
Container ship Sealand Meriner sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while three more ships namely CV MSC Aurora, MT Eburna and MT Warbah are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total of three vessels viz Anette Kosan, Al Isha'a and Gemini are currently at the outer anchorage.
Two ships namely CV Contship Indigo and MT Gemini are due to take berths on Wednesday.
Container ship Asian Gyro is due to arrive on Wednesday.
