Tourism ministry in collaboration with private sector will participate in "JATA World Travel Fair-2005", in Japan to promote soft image of Pakistan and tourism. These were stated by Federal Minister for Tourism, Dr G.G. Jamal while presiding the meeting regarding JATA World Travel Fair to discuss the preparation and products and financial aspects, here on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by secretary tourism, Salim Gul Sheikh, MD PTDC and representatives form the private sector including PIA, Hoteling, Travel Agencies and using a Cox, says a press release issued here.
It has been told to the participants that JATA World Congress and Travel Fair Tokyo, Japan, is being held form September-22nd to 24th this year.
During the year 2004 over 770 private and public sector organisations exhibited by setting up 862 booths representing 108 countries and over 100,000 people visited the fair daily and same are expected this year.
Later, the minister said, we should select our best available tourism products and due attention should be given to the religious, culture and adventure products.
Every care should be made to grab this opportunity, he said and added Pakistan has a greet attention for Japanese tourists due to Gandhara, Indus valley civilisations, the Silk Route Mountaineering and Trekking.
Japan is top ten tourism generating countries for Pakistan, he further added.
He also directed that these tour operations should be sent who contribute and active in the promotion of tourism.
Jamal urged the private sector to come forward that end and strengthen hands of the government in the promotion of tourism as well soft image of Pakistan.
