UAE Ambassador Ali Mohamad Al-Shamsi along with a two-member delegation met Jehangir Bashar, Secretary Board of Investment, on Thursday and discussed with him various investment opportunities available in Pakistan, an official statement said.
Bashar informed the delegates that Pakistan offers attractive opportunities to investors both local and foreign. He said Pakistan has the most liberal investment policy in the region and new incentives and further liberalisation measures have boosted the foreign direct investment (FDI).
The BoI secretary pointed out that the government is fully committed to providing a level playing field to all investors both local and foreign. The investors are free to select industry of their choice and are allowed 100 percent equity, he added.
The UAE investors showed keen interest for investment in IT & telecom, energy, oil & gas, real estate and public transportation sectors in Pakistan.
Appreciating the UAE delegates' interests in investing in various sectors, Bashar assured them that the BoI would provide every possible assistance to facilitate their investment in these sectors.
