The United Group has nominated its candidates for the Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (Reap) election 2005 and has emphasised on correcting and improving the systems of management and administration based on transparency, impartiality and fair play.
According to press release issued here on Thursday, the United group has planned to carry out a full fledged programme to enhance exports, educate, support, encourage and motivate the rice exporters to modernise their mills and factories on scientific lines and has asserted that technology is the way to progress.
The candidates have been carefully selected to represent the large, medium & small exporters. The group has also declared its manifesto, which is based on upliftment, value addition & upgradation of the rice sector, the statement added.
Majority of the rice exporters has joined the group because it believes in educating the exporters and resolving their issues.
The group enjoys the support of leading rice exporters, who have been wanting a change in the leadership having a scientific approach for the promotion of the sector. Zulfikar Thaver, President of the Union of Small & Medium Enterprises said there are many SMEs in the rice sector and it is very important that the Managing Committee has members, who can represent the rice sector at all levels in the provincial and central forums effectively.-PR
