Corn futures at the Chicago Board of Trade were weaker early Friday as recent improved crop weather in the Midwest continued to weigh on prices, traders said. A sharp drop in soybeans and persistent reminders of the current big supply of feed grains globally likewise undermined prices, they said.
At 10:37 am CDT (1537 GMT), CBOT corn was unchanged to 1-1/2 cents lower. September was down 1/4 at $2.11 per bushel, with December unchanged at $2.24-3/4. Refco Inc sold 800 December, pit sources said.
Meteorlogix weather early Friday said scattered showers moved through the Midwest on Thursday and additional rainfall was expected in parts of the crop region on Friday.
