Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has reaffirmed Pakistan's stance to resolve all issues with India including Kashmir by peaceful means. Addressing a function arranged in his honour by Pakistan-Japan Association in Toyama, Sheikh Rashid said Pakistan has emerged as the true leader of Muslim Ummah and it has to play an important role for peace in the world.
Sheikh Rasheed is on a four-day visit to Japan on the invitation of Pakistan-Japan Association and Overseas Pakistanis.
He said Pakistan is a peaceful country and for a durable peace in South Asia and the world at large, disputes like Kashmir and Palestine need to be resolved.
Speaking at another gathering of Pakistanis in Nigata, the Information Minister said the successful conduct of the first round of local bodies elections in the country prove the people's confidence in the government policies.
He urged the Overseas Pakistanis to set aside all political differences and work for developing a positive and true image of Pakistan abroad.
He said that efforts would be made that special seats for overseas Pakistanis may be allocated in the parliament.
