An open auction of attractive registration numbers of 'LZW' series will be held at the district office of Excise & Taxation Department here on Monday (August 22).
According to Rao Shakeel-ur-Rehman from Motor Registering Authority Lahore, the reserved price for LZW-1 will be Rs 10,000, for LZW-7 and LZW-786 Rs 7,500 each, while it will be Rs 5,000 each for remaining 133 attractive numbers of the series.
He stated elaborate publicity arrangements have been made to ensure maximum participation of people in the auction. He added under the policy guidelines issued by the Secretary Excise & Taxation, sealed bids were also invited for the sale of three-digit numbers of registration marks of any series in Lahore. The reserved price fixed for participation in sealed bid was Rs 1,000. The sealed bids would be opened on Tuesday, the August 23. He further said provincial government was fetching substantial revenue through open auction of attractive registration marks of vehicles in the province.
