Rescue teams failed to find the bodies of a dejected woman and her two daughters however her another two daughters Kishwar (8) and Imrana (10 month) were saved by the rescue team in Jaranwala on Sunday some 140 miles north-east of Multan.
"Ghulam Fatima (35) wife of Ashiq was a resident of Syedwala village. She had three daughters, 10-year-old Kishwar, 8-year-old Muqaddas and 6-year-old Shiasta. About 10 months ago she gave birth to another girl Imrana. It fomented the gender issue in the family and her in-laws and husband were constantly scolding her. The woman took her daughters to Jaranwala and jumped into the Gogera Branch Canal on Saturday afternoon," Muhammad Amin Waince, DPO Faisalabad told on Sunday. The woman and her two daughters were still missing and were feared dead.
