Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has finalised necessary arrangements to introduce new mode of payments of electricity bills through credit cards and automatic transaction machines (ATMs), which is likely to be launched in the next month.
A spokesman of Lesco said here on Monday that this facility would be available for the customers of more than one dozen leading banks of the country. He said that National Bank of Pakistan, Bank Al-Habib and Bank of Punjab has already started work on this project.
He said that Lesco would also launch its scratch cards within next six months through which the electricity bills could be paid without any hassle.
Moreover, heavy downpour in the city on Monday caused problems for the Lesco consumers due to power suspension.
A large number of Lesco consumers also registered complaints in concerned Lesco offices about power failure.
When contacted, a spokesman of Lesco said that Lesco is undertaking a project for the renovation, repair and modernisation of its electricity distribution system for resolution of these problems on permanent basis.
