The Punjab excise and taxation department received Rs 2.29 million through sale of attractive registration marks of vehicles for LZW series in an open auction held here on Monday.
The auction took place at the excise & taxation office, Farid Kot house, Lahore under the supervision of section officer, excise & taxation department and motor registering authority, Lahore. The department had also widely publicised the auction through print media.
Out of total 136 registration numbers for LZW series, 128 were contested. The highest bid of Rs115,000 was received for LZW-777 and second highest offer of Rs107,000 came for LZW-1, while LZW-786 fetched Rs100,000.
Similarly, LZW-7 was sold at Rs75,000, LZW-2, Rs22,000, LZW-3, Rs25,000, LZE-4, Rs26,000, LZW-5, Rs70,000, LZW-6, Rs34,000, LZW-8, Rs30,000, LZW-9, Rs53,000 and LZW-11, Rs25,000.
