City District Government Karachi (CDGK) will purchase fire brigade vehicles worth some Rs 130 million during the current year, a meeting headed by Caretaker CDGK was told here on Wednesday. These vehicles include a snorkel worth Rs 50.5 million, 20-fire tenders worth Rs 60 million and 20 ambulances worth Rs 10 million.
The meeting attended by EDO Works and Services Sarfraz Ali Shah, District Officer Annual Development Programme Nisar Sariyo, District Officer Fire Brigade and Civil Defence Shoaib Waqar and other senior officials reviewed various matters belonging to fire brigade and civil defence.
The meeting was told CDGK presently had a snorkel with 103-feet ladder, 40 fire tenders and two ambulances. Sindh government during current annual development programme had earmarked Rs 60 million for purchase of a snorkel and out of them Rs 30 million were received by the CDGK, the meeting was briefed.
