The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) will remain open for routine trading on Thursday, August 25, despite of local bodies' election in the provincial capital. The decision was taken at an emergent meeting of board of directors of the exchange, held on Wednesday afternoon.
The meeting resolved that the market shall remain open for trading on Thursday in light of the State Bank of Pakistan's decision (through BPD circular letter No 31 of 2005, dated August 24, 2005), that all banks/DFIs will remain open for business transactions on, August 25.
The board also decided that the settlement of money/security obligations would remain effective as decided by National Clearing Company of Pakistan vide its letter dated August 23.
It was also announced by LSE that trades conducted on August 25 would be settled on August 30, 2005.
