US coffee futures ended down after setting a fresh nine-month low Friday, pressured by speculators exiting their long positions for the third straight session amid limited roaster buying, traders said.
The New York Board of Trade's washed-arabica contract for December delivery fell 1.3 cents to settle at 95.70 cents a lb after trading to a low 95.20 cents which was the cheapest price since Nov. 17, 2004.
"It was a very poor technical performance, and the market is fragile," said Rodrigo Costa, vice president of institutional sales at Fimat USA.
