A federal bankruptcy judge on Friday gave bankrupt United Airlines another extension of its exclusivity, though November 1, for filing a bankruptcy reorganisation plan without interference from creditors or other parties.
The current extension was due to expire on September 1. United, a unit of UAL Corp, is the No 2 US carrier. It has been in Chapter 11 since December 2002.
While approving the extension, US Bankruptcy Judge Eugene Wedoff also said he wanted it to be the final one for United.
The airline has said it hopes to emerge from bankruptcy late this year or early in 2006.
