imageISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has categorically denied media reports about procurement of biometric machines from India.

In a statement issued on Saturday, a spokesperson for the ECP said that the commission has neither allowed nor accepted any Indian firm to participate in the procurement process of electronic voting or biometric machines.

The spokesperson said the ECP has already taken extra precautionary measures that it will be mandatory for qualified firms to be security cleared from top intelligence agencies of the country.
