The Ministry of Commerce (MoC) has sanctioned Rs 57 million for the expansion and upgradation of the S.M.A. Rizvi textile Institute. This was announced in a statement of Towel Manufactures' Association of Pakistan (TMAP) here on Monday.
It said the members of the Board of Governors, Principal and Faculty of the Institute had thanked the Commerce Minister Humayun Akhtar for such a gesture. "We hail the new trend in the government policies to patronise technical education in Pakistan, which was neglected so far," the TMAP statement added.
It pointed out that the Institute was already equipped with some of the most modern machinery such as shuttle-less air jet looms as well as Cad-Cam system imported at a very high cost.
