A meeting of sub committee of the Public Accounts Committee on Home (Police) Department was held with MPA Shahzada Mohammad Gastasip Khan in the chair at the conference room of the NWFP Assembly Secretariat on Monday.
The NWFP Assembly members, Anwar Kamal Khan Marwat, Muzaffar Said Advocate and Khalid Waqar Advocate, Additional Home Secretary Fazlur Rehman, Deputy Secretary Law Naeem Iqbal, Deputy Secretary NWFP Assembly Amjad Khan and officers of the finance, home, tribal affairs and audit departments attended the meeting.
The participants discussed the alleged misappropriation of funds in the purchase of different type of uniform items for the police department in Kohistan, Karak, Bannu, Peshawar, Swat, Nowshera and Temergara districts. Chairman and members of the committee took serious notice of the non-provision of detailed and complete record and directed that parawise discussion would now be held on all the 24 identical paras, all of them regarding misappropriation of funds in the uniform items so far purchased for the said districts.
The committee will now meet on September 12,2005 and the chairman directed the concerned authorities to come with complete detailed reports on the issue and brief the members so that the committee could file its recommendations for onwards submission to the assembly.
