Federal minister for religious affairs Ijazul Haq has said the government is determined to ensure maximum facilities to Hajis, particularly from Balochistan which is evident from the Haj complex being constructed in Quetta.
Speaking at ground breaking ceremony of the Haj complex here on Monday, he said a permanent Haj complex was a longstanding demand of Hajis from Balochistan, as they could not be properly facilitated due to non-availability of permanent Haj building in Quetta.
"Balochistan governor Owais Ahmed Ghani has played pivotal role in its construction," the minister said. He said the new Haj building will be equipped with all required facilities and sufficient for 350 Hajis.
"I have also got the Haj quota for Pakistan increased following negotiation with the Saudi government from 130,000 to 150,000 Hajis per year, he said.
There is no controversy between the government and religious madaris over registration and heads of all madaris are willingly getting their institutes registered.
He said the government has set up model madaris in various cities and including Islamabad, Sukkur, Karachi and Faisalabad.
"Students of these institutions are simultaneously imparted religious and modern education by highly qualified teachers," he said.
Explaining popularity of model madaris among the people, he said parents of affluent class are also getting their children admitted in these schools.
"World acclaimed magazine Wall Street Journal has also praised the system of Model Madaris set up by the government," he said. He said a model madaressa would also be established at Quetta.
Speaking on the occasion, Balochistan governor Owais Ahmed Ghani congratulated the people of Balochistan for having a permanent building for Hajis in Quetta.
