Pakistan State Oil (PSO) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with M/s Star Petro Energy Ltd of Al-Ghurair Group of Companies UAE to provide compressed natural gas (CNG) to vehicles on highways from Karachi to Peshawar.
PSO Managing Director Jalees Ahmed Siddiqui signed the MoU with the CEO of Star Petro Energy Ltd Musarrat Zubairi.
PSO will provide CNG at its outlets at every 80 to 100 kilometers through a unique concept of unconventional mother-daughter CNG facilities where piped gas is not available.
According to PSO, the mother station will be installed to the nearest point from highways where piped gas line is available.
PSO will install high capacity compressors and equipment at these points to transport CNG through big trucks carrying high capacity storage cylinders to retail outlets for dispensing to motorists on highways.
