The Supreme Court registrar has sent out invitations to a full court reference to bid farewell to Justice Hamid Ali Mirza at the First Court tomorrow (August 31). Justice Mirza was elevated to the Sindh High Court in April 1995 and from there came to the Supreme Court in April, 2000.
The farewell reference will be addressed by the attorney general, the president of the Pakistan SCB, the vice-chairman of the Pakistan Bar Council and then the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary.
The retiring judge will then reply to the speeches. The court is also holding a farewell reception for him.
