Unicef Chief, Punjab, Dr Deepak Bhattacharya has said that daily lesson planning prepared by the donor co-ordination wing of Education Department will be introduced in 150 child friendly schools of Unicef, keeping in view the utility and effectiveness of this strategy.
He expressed these views in a meeting with Advisor to Chief Minister on Education Sadia Shahzad Chaudhry here. High officials of provincial education department and Unicef Punjab also attended the meeting.
Commenting on the lesson planning, the Unicef Punjab chief said it was a practical step towards provision of quality education to the students of government schools. A team of educationists under the leadership of Advisor to Chief Minister has done a commendable job for the improvement of education system and this planning will prove very helpful in raising the standard of education in the province.
He added that keeping in view the importance of lesson planning, the Unicef has decided to introduce this plan in 150 schools adopted by it, in six districts of the province including Sheikhupura, Mianwali, Rahim Yar Khan, Kasur, Sargodha and Rajanpur.
Highlighting salient features of the programme, Advisor to Chief Minister said that the introduction of lesson planning would enable the teachers to do their duty in accordance with need of the hour. Proper lesson planning will not only be helpful to reduce the frustration of teachers in classroom, but also broaden their vision regarding the subjects of curriculum. The introduction of educational calendar and manual is a first step towards the daily lesson planning. She stressed upon the teachers to pay due attention to the assessment of the students regarding their studies.
