During last week's talks by the foreign secretaries of Pakistan and India on the composite dialogue process, Islamabad had reiterated its suggestion that New Delhi thin down its military presence in population centres in occupied Kashmir.
Answering a question here on Monday, Foreign Office spokesman Muhammad Naeem Khan said that suggestion was made in view of reports of "lot of human rights' violations" in the occupied valley.
He said that Pakistani delegation had also reaffirmed its belief that the human rights violations in the disputed territory were because of the presence of Indian troops there. Pakistani side, he added had also reaffirmed its opposition to terrorist activities.
Khan commended the progress made under the composite dialogue saying that a lot of confidence building measures had been agreed to and implementation was in process.
