The Orangi Town Police on Tuesday arrested three members of a gang involved in street crimes and recovered four mobile telephones, two pistols and a dagger from them.
The accused were arrested following an information received by the SHO Orangi Town that gang members involved in street crimes are carrying out plan behind KESC office for committing crime.
A police party nabbed the accused identified as Wakil Jamal s/o Abdul Jabbar, Abdul Wahid s/o Mirza Jan and Anwar Ali s/o Khurshid Ali.
During initial interrogation, the accused divulged that one Amanullah is the gang leader on whose instruction, they along with Amanullah, Taj Wali and Gul Takar snatched money and mobile from a person and shot him on September 2.
They admitted of their involvement in snatching of cash and mobile phones in passenger coaches of W-21, X-24, W-30, W-19, etc.
They told the police about looting of 12 mobile phones, calling cards worth Rs 340,000 and cash Rs 40,000 from the shop of Anwar Communication near Malang Hotel on Manghopir Road.
They said on Tuesday at the instruction of Amanullah, they had gathered with the planning to loot passenger coaches when arrested.
Orangi Police have registered FIR under 181, 182 and 183 against the accused and carrying out raids for the arrest of gang leader and its other members.
