Minister of state for sports and culture Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani on Tuesday said normal ties between India and Pakistan could be established without the settlement of Kashmir dispute. "Time is near when Kashmir will formally become part of Pakistan because Kashmir is crown of Pakistan's head," he said in his address to the three-day youth convention organised by the AJK ministry of youth and culture here.
He claimed President General Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz have been making efforts for the resolution of Kashmir dispute. He assured the Kashmir dispute would be resolved as per the wishes of the people of Kashmir.
"Confidence-building measures (CBMs), start of the Muzaffarabad-Srinagar bus service and proposals to open other routes between occupied and Azad Kashmir are steps towards destination of the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir," Durrani asserted.
Stating that resolution of Kashmir dispute will usher in an era of development, prosperity and peace in the subcontinent, the minister said negotiations with India are being held for its settlement and not to keep it under the carpet.
He urged youths to rise against self-interest and think and act for the country. He claimed that self-centered politicians and rulers of the country are responsible for challenges and problems faced by the country. Durrani added the government was striving to give economic stability to the country to secure future of coming generations.
He said youths are builders of tomorrow and future of the country is in their hands so it is need of the hour to invest in them and make all efforts to provide them better guidelines. He assured the government would provide all possible assistance to youths and youth delegations would be sent abroad for the development of their vision.
He said Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has directed for the visit of a youth delegation to China in November. The delegation would comprise of youths from every province, AJK and Northern Areas.
