Pak-India Business Council (PIBC) has demanded of the government to provide transit trade facility to India for Afghanistan. "Pakistan can earn 2 billion dollars from transit fee which is equal to country's 20 percent exports," said, Hafiz Noor Muhammad Kasuri, Chairman PIBC in a statement here on Tuesday.
He was of the view that despite geographical attachments, trade with Afghanistan has never exceeded from 400 to 500 million dollars annually, which demands changes in the policy.
Kasuri said that Indian trade would increase from 30 to 50 billion dollars in next five years, which would increase Pakistan's annual income from 2 to 5 billion dollars if she provide transit facility to the Indian goods.
He stressed on further liberalisation of trade between Pakistan and India, which according to him would not only bring the people of both countries more closer but also help resolve other outstanding issues.
