The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notice to secretary archaeology in a petition filed by one Muhammad Shafi, praying to the court to declare the appointment of respondent Muhammad Shafiq as Superintendent in Lahore Museum as illegal and without lawful authority.
The petitioner contended that the respondent had tempered the minutes of departmental promotion committee for his appointment as superintendent. He said that education qualification for the post of superintendent is graduate, but the respondent is intermediate.
He said that he had approached the respondent officials but failed to get any relief. He prayed to the court to declare the appointment of the respondent as illegal. The court, after hearing the petitioner's counsel at length, called for a report from the respondent secretary archaeology.
VERDICT RESERVED: The Lahore High Court (LHC) reserved its verdict in a petition filed by Professor Dr Ijaz Ahmed, challenging the appointment of Dr Naseem in University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore.
The petitioner contended that the respondent was appointed as professor in the university in violation of rules. He contended that the university syndicate could allot 35 discretionary marks to any candidate but the respondent committee had given him 53 marks illegally and without lawful authority. He prayed to the court to declare the appointment of the respondent as illegal and without lawful authority. The court, after hearing both the sides at length, reserved its verdict.
NOTICE ISSUED: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued notice in a petition filed by police inspector Naveed Saeed challenging the sentence of an accountability court convicting him for three years.
The court had convicted him for three years for not appearing before the court. He prayed to the court to declare his sentence illegal and without lawful authority. The court, after hearing the petitioner at length, issued notice to special prosecutor for September 13 and rose for the day.
