Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Sher Afgan Khan Niazi on Tuesday said construction work on two big water reservoirs would start during current year. Speaking in a PTV programme, he said there would be shortage of water for irrigation and other purposes in future if water reservoirs were not constructed in time.
Construction of new dams and water reservoirs is imperative for the progress, prosperity and development of the country, he added. To a question he said performance of the present government during last one-year was excellent.
He said parliament has done historical legislation during the period of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. Performance of the present government was for better in all sectors as compared to past governments, he added.
Dr Niazi said the country has achieved remarkable economic growth. Fruit of the economic growth have started to reach the common man, he observed.
He said many mega development projects have been started throughout the country. The Minister added gas and electricity have been provided to many villages.
