Minor bomb blasts wounded at least four people early on Friday at outlets of the KFC and McDonald's fast food chains here, police and eyewitnesses said.
The first explosion happened in the KFC in Defence district at around 12:40am and was followed eight minutes later by a blast at a seaside McDonald's kiosk, local police chief Imran Shaukat told AFP.
"These blasts were caused by low-intensity, home-made bombs," Shaukat said.
He said at least two people, including a baby, had been taken to hospital from the scene of the KFC blast, adding that the number of wounded would rise once emergency services reported back from the McDonald's.
Eyewitness Mohammed Nehan said he saw four members of one family injured at the KFC, one of whom was an infant.
"I was having a meal by myself when I heard a big explosion and all the windows were blown in," he told AFP.
