The jail authorities did not produce Zubair Qayyum and others before the Special Court for Suppression of Terrorist Activities, as the Punjab home secretary extended their detention for further three months.
The detainees had applied for their bail, but the respondent, the jail authorities, refused to produce them before the court, as the Punjab home secretary has extended their detention period further.
It may be mentioned that the detainees were got recovered by Justice Syed Shabbar Raza Rizvi of the Lahore High Court in a petition filed for their recovery.
The LHC had disposed of the petition filed for their recovery, as the law officer on their production before the court informed that they were detained by the Punjab home secretary under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance.
The court, while disposing of the petition, had advised the detainees to approach the court of original jurisdiction for their bail.
