The PTCL Calling Cards for national/international calls have neither any Helpline service in general nor any office in Karachi for provision of immediate assistance to subscribers.
The so-called "24 Hours Toll Free Helpline 0800 80808" printed on calling cards, is practically never accessible to subscribers regardless of the timings during morning, forenoon, afternoon, evening, midnight, late night and early morning hours.
Whenever it is called, it responds with an automatic recorded answer back voice, saying:- (i)- Sorry, there is no reply from the dialed number, thank you. OR (ii)- Sorry, destination number is busy, try later, thank you.
Pakistan Tele Communication Limited enquiries 17 in Karachi are neither aware nor updated with contact numbers, other than so-called Helpline 0800-80808 (always busy line) and advise either incorrect or not in service phone numbers of the PTCL valued added services in Karachi, misguiding customers.
Subscribers using PTCL Calling Cards can well understand that Helpline is contacted only in case of experiencing problems with dialing digital no: 1010 or 1011, which are always quickly accessible.
It means the load of incoming calls at Helpline 0800-80808 always remains either nil or very low in comparison to load at Numbers: 1010 and 1011. Despite it, the so-called Helpline remains busy for 24 hours.
Whatever reason, if the load of calls on Helpline is same as that of dialing number, it shows the faulty system of PTCL Calling Card and inefficiency of Helpline services.
PTCL is requested to improve and convert its Helpline 0800-80808 services for 24 hours in practical, as claimed and update 17 enquiries with its accessible number other than Helpline as well as postal address, e-mail and contact number of concern PTCL authority, in case of complaints or faults of PTCL Calling Card for public information.
