Pakistan has offered Iran to buy electricity at 4.25 cents per unit to meet the yawning gap between supply and demand of power within the country. Member power Wapda, Chaudhry Anwar Khalid, who recently returned from Iran, said that the government of Iran would intimate its willingness or otherwise to supply electricity on the above rates within one month, a private TV reported on Sunday.
Member power said that Iran was ready to sell electricity to Pakistan at 7 cents per unit and as against that Pakistan has offered to buy at 4.25 cents per unit.
Iran would be constructing 220 KVA grid station for electricity supply to Balochistan bordering areas, while for Gwadar 100 Kilometer long line would be laid by Wapda from its own resources, he added.
