Pay scales and emoluments of United Bank Limited (UBL) employees should be raised in commensurate with the prevailing price index as the same have not been revised since 2001.
This demand was raised at the provincial convention of UBL employees held here on Sunday at Bakhtiar Labour Hall, under the aegis of United Bank Employees Federation of Pakistan. General Secretary Pakistan Workers Federation Khurshid Ahmad Khan presided over the function.
The convention was participated by the workers from all parts of the province and was addressed by Muhammad Wasif Dar, General Secretary, Khadim Ali Sheikh, President, Attiq-uz-Zaman Kayani, Zafar Iqbal, Muhammad Shabbir, Abid Ali, Malik Muhammad Khurshid Warriach and Muhammad Jameel Butt.
The meeting also demanded legislation in Pakistan Industrial Relations Ordinance 2002 and Section 27/B Banking Companies Ordinance and President (Special Power of Removal of Service Ordinance 2002) and section 2/A of Civil Servant Tribal Act. It also urged the government to check the unbridled price hike in the country and asked the management of the bank not to avoid dialogue with the accredited representatives of the workers.
