Guwar got the beating on the commodity wholesales markets where other items showed modest rise and fall during the week ended on September 10, 2005, relevant traders said. The commodities which were subjected to change were not many and they were, guwar, cotton cakes, milk powder, rapeseeds, til, etc.
On Monday a couple of changes were marked including guwar, it yielded Rs 50 to Rs 2100-2200, for all stations and cotton cakes with bag low kind lost Rs 5 to Rs 380 while the better type stayed put at Rs 408.
ON TUESDAY, MILK POWDER PRICES HAD FOLLOWING VARIATIONS: Skimmed newly incorporated Amul from India was quoted at Rs 4300, full cream EuroGold down Rs 100 to Rs 4550, Bale Vole down Rs 250 to Rs 4550, unsweetened King of Kings down Rs 25 to Rs 1875 and pineapple malachite full quoted at Rs 1080. Cottonseed cakes gained Rs 5 to Rs 428, and low type up Rs 2 to Rs 410.
On Wednesday guwar again gave in Rs 50 to Rs 2050-2150, rapeseed Nawabshah low type shed Rs 20 to Rs 770, the better type lost Rs 10 to Rs 790, rapeseed Mirpur inferior shed Rs 5 to Rs 725, and better type shed Rs 5 to Rs 730, til better type gained Rs 50 to Rs 1800, inferior type stayed put.
TEA PRICES WERE MIXED IN FEW CHANGES: Kenya B grade up Rs 2 to Rs 162, Bangladesh Garden Pak (original) down Rs 3 to Rs 108 Gulab down Rs 3 to Rs 107, Khushbu down Rs 2 to Rs 104 and Garden Pack (BOP) down Re 1 to Rs 104.

Moong Punjab quoted at Rs 2600, masoor dal India shed Rs 100 to Rs 3300-3400.
Friday, strike call by opposition probably took the commodity markets trading to zero point.
On Saturday, guwar sold at Rs 1950-2050 for all stations, dealers said. Other items did not move in slow trading due to heavy rains in the city.
