Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad on Sunday paid glowing tributes to the Founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on his 57th death anniversary and reiterated government's pledge for making Pakistan a moderate and enlightened state in pursuance of Quaid's dream.
Speaking to newsmen after offering Fateha at Quaid's mausoleum, Ibad said nation today remembers the sacrifices and tireless effort of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, which resulted in creation of a sovereign state.
He said September 11 underlines the significance of oneness among people and in this regard called upon the nation to unite for achieving common goals. "Together we have to strive for making Pakistan a moderate state free from menace of terrorism and sectarianism," he reiterated.
Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim and representatives of the three services also visited Father of Nation's mausoleum where they offered Fateha and laid floral wreaths.
Brigadier Lateef on behalf of Army, Captain Mubeen Bajwa for Navy and Air Commodore Farhat Hussain for Pakistan Air Force and other senior government officials also visited Quaid's resting-place-situated in heart of Karachi. Even under burning sun, people from all walks of life turned out in large numbers to salute the achievements of their true leader.
