The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has allowed Central Board of Revenue (CBR) to export the seized liquor and spend export proceeds on welfare of minorities in the country.
The issue came to the limelight during the last Board-in-Council meeting where it was stated that CII has permitted export of such confiscated bottles. However, the amount should be spent on minorities.
The CBR has issued instructions to all collectors of customs and agencies to submit the updated data regarding seized/confiscated liquor. Information has been received from some quarters and reminders have been issued to others.
