State Bank of Pakistan has placed salient features including security features of bank notes of all denominations which are currently in circulation on its website: http://www.sbp.org.pk/banknotes
The availability of salient, security features of existing bank notes of Rs 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 & 1000 denominations along with their specimen on the Bank's website will help general public to distinguish between a fake and a genuine bank note.
Whenever a new bank note of any denomination is issued, SBP through a press note informs general public about its salient, security features that include details of size, colour, watermark, security thread, portrait of Quaid-e-Azam, lettering, serial number, signature of SBP Governor and Bank's seal etc.
SBP also issues details of security features of bank notes to banks and periodically holds training programmes for cashiers of banks so that they can detect fake notes.
The issuance of Rs 20 note with effect from 13th August, 2005 and its security features were widely publicised by SBP through print and electronic media for benefit of bankers and general public.
