Sales on the commodity wholesale markets depicted least about Ramazan only few days away, except local moong recording rise and imports from Australia having arrived.
Fruits, a must item in the month such as apple, banana etc are available abundantly though prices remain out of common man's reach. However, changes were marked in castorseeds, cotton cakes, Olden burger, guwar, moong Punjab, white pepper, cloves, sago, cuminseed, darchini and jute goods during the week ended on September 17, 2005.
On Monday grain market has some variations on both sides of the counter: cotton cakes with bag gained Rs 5 to Rs 390/415. Guwar lost Rs 50 to Rs 1900-2000 for all stations. On Tuesday cotton cakes further gained Rs 5 to Rs 395 while better type stayed put at Rs 415, moong Punjab quoted at Rs 2750 and Rs 2875, moong Australia registered at Rs 3200-Rs 3400, and masoor dal from India quoted at Rs 8300-3400.
KIRANA ITEMS: white pepper from Singapore up Rs 100 to Rs 4000, cloves down Rs 450 to Rs 900, Sago down Rs 20 to Rs 1240, cuminseed down Rs 300 to Rs 3300 and darchini down Rs 100 to Rs 1600. On Wednesday only chain on grain market was seen such as in til better type lost Rs 50 to Rs 1750, castorseed Lasbela lost Rs 25 to Rs 775. Milk powder: Olden burger up Rs 50 to Rs 4950 and Pcomileh Holland up Rs 50 to Rs 4950 and pineapple side Thaipine 565 gm quoted at Rs 670.
On Thursday cotton cakes rose by Rs 5 to Rs 400 and Rs 420. Jute goods: 20x3 brown up Re 1 to Rs 3750, 16x3 CRT/Indus down Rs 5 to Rs 31.50 50x9 Thul up Rs 50 to Rs 1650, 45x9 up Rs 50 to Rs 1650, 50x8 Thul up Rs 50 to Rs 1450 and 45x8 United up Rs 100 to Rs 1400. On Friday some changes were noted on the seed and grain market which were: Moong Punjab inferior and better type both lost Rs 125 to Rs 2625 and Rs 2750, Guwar both types of all stations turned higher for the third time during the week by Rs 50 to Rs 1950 and Rs 2050.
Til inferior stayed put at Rs 1500 but the better type rose by Rs 50 to Rs 1800. On Saturday Bajra prices picked up Rs 100 to Rs 2000 and 2100 on the gram side dealers said.
On the seed side, cottonseed oilcake with tag gained Rs 5 to Rs 400 and Rs 420, other commodities maintained their overnight levels in the slow business.
