The Karachi Port handled 85,756 tonnes of cargo including 72,831 tonnes import and 12,925 tonnes export cargo including 3,207 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The cargo comprised of 79,037 tonnes dry cargo including 47,937 tonnes general cargo; 31,100 tonnes bulk cargo and 6,719 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo.
Seven ships namely Paraskevi-II, Bum Woo, Persia, Jipro Dream, Sagamore, Al-Barakah and Matina sailed out to sea during the report period.
Fifteen vessels viz CSA Asia, Antoine, Al-Barakah, Norwave, Sagamore, Sutra Tiga, Persia, Ataaxia, Iran Shahryar, Thor Captain, Maersk Arizona, Itha Bum, European Highway, Asian Trader and New Anhui are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Asian Trader, European Highway, Houslow-II and Freida Selmer expected to sail on Monday, while another ship Antoine is expected to sail on Tuesday.
Six vessels viz Shintoku, Maersk Alaska, Hanjin Busan, Morning Sky, Carolina and Pangani due to arrive on Monday, while four ships namely Bunga Delima, Apl Dalian, Glorious Sun and Cargo Enterprise are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The cargo comprised of 4,790 tonnes edible oil; 29,172 tonnes diesel oil; 3,312 tonnes seeds; 2,732 tonnes wheat; 1,826 tonnes chemicals; 372 tonnes fertiliser and 36,380 tonnes containerised cargo.
Four vessels viz CV P&O Nedllyed Los Angeles, MT Eburna, Al-Farabi, and Hyderabad sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while two more ships namely CV Msc Delhi and Shintoku are expected to sail on Monday.
A total of five vessels viz Yanaseni, Kinu Gawa, Saudi Tabuk, Al-Marwah and Bota Fogo are currently at the outer anchorage.
Three ships namely Saudi Tabuk, Sealand Independence and Al-Marwah due to take berths on Monday.
Four vessels viz MT Solt Loyalty, Norwave, Vill De Mars and Oocl Athority with chemicals, edible oil and containers are due to arrive on Monday.
