The Lahore High Court (LHC) has allowed Abdur Rehman Kanju to contest the election of district nazim Lodhran. The petitioner has approached the court against the decision of District Returning Officer (DRO), who had rejected his nomination papers on the plea that the petitioner failed to produce equivalent certificate along with O level education.
It was contended in the court that educational qualification for slot of nazim is only metric, while O level education is higher education. It was prayed to the court to set aside the decision of DRO and allow him to contest election of nazim.
The court, after hearing the petitioner's counsel at length, set aside the decision of the DRO and allowed him to contest district nazim election.
