Ruet body to meet on October 4

The regional and central Ruet-e-Hilal (moon-sighting) committees would hold their meetings in different parts of the country on October 4 to spot the Ramzan crescent, the first moon of holy month, a government statement said on Saturday.
The zonal moon-sighting committee in Karachi would convene its meeting at Habib Bank Plaza, thought to be an ideal place to spot the first moon, it said.
However, Central Ruet Hilal Committee meeting would be held in Peshawar at the office of Administrator Auqaf Department. Chairman Ruet Hilal Committee would chair the meeting.
The Central Ruet Hilal Committee would also receive reports of moon-sighting from public and regional bodies on following phone numbers: (091) 2433428, 0300 9285203. The final decision on moon sighting would be announced by the Chairman Ruet Hilal Committee, the statement added.
