The four-day 23rd Eastern Region International conference on tuberculosis and lung disease will commence here on Sunday, in which leading experts will deal at length on the deadly lung-related diseases.
The conference has been organised by International Union against Lung Disease, Pakistan Anti-TB Association, Pakistan Chest Society and National TB Control Programme. Medical experts from Bangladesh, China, Cambodia, India, Nepal, Egypt, Chinese Taipei besides Pakistan will read their papers on various aspects of lung diseases.
King Edward Medical College Principal Professor Dr Mumtaz Hasan will inaugurate the conference while Federal Health Minister Muhammad Naseer Khan is expected to preside over the closing ceremony on September 28.
