The fire broke out in a cloth market has been extinguished completely, SHO Liaquatabad police station Najmul Hassan told APP. He said there were no casualties. However, 24 cloth and cosmetics shops and two godowns have been completely burnt while about 8 shops have been partially damaged due to the fire.
The fire was caused by a short-circuit of electricity in a silk shop of Liaquatabad cloth market which spread to the other shops of the market.
