The Karachi Port handled 282,818 tonnes of cargo including 215,252 tonnes import and 67,566 tonnes export cargo including 1,149 containers during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The cargo comprised of 177,501 tonnes dry cargo including 89,610 tonnes general cargo; 11,004 tonnes sugar; 43,475 tonnes coal; 32,865 tonnes fertiliser; 547 tonnes cement and 105,317 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo.
Twelve ships namely Kota Teguh, Lykes Racer, Eibe Oldendorff, Wan Hai-263, Sagamore, Iran Kordestan, Lalazar, Maersk Arizona, Tinai, Apollon, Pretty Flourish and MT Swat sailed out to sea during the report period.
Nine vessels viz Sagamore, Maersk Arizona, Islamabad, MT Swat, Sun Rise Ocean, Troy Burg, Kota Mesra, Fu Zhou and Dayra Raag are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Gulf Horizon, Troy Burg and Atlantic Express expected to sail on Monday, while three vessels viz Sun Rise Ocean, Kota Mesra and MT Shalamar expected to sail on Tuesday.
Three vessels viz Chem Pisces, Genco Success and Star Invntana due to arrive on Monday, while four ships namely Ever Guard, Yang Jiang He, Eax Sanctity and Apl Cairo are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The cargo comprised of 22,100 tonnes furnace oil; 3,739 tonnes edible oil; 5,436 tonnes seeds; 6,033 tonnes wheat; 8,417 tonnes chemicals and 28,900 tonnes containerised cargo.
Two vessels viz MT Longfin and Pacific Breeze sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while two more ships namely Msc Camilla and Msc Mexico expected to sail on Monday.
A total of four vessels viz Yang Quan, Trust Spirit, Bow Petros and Msc Selin are currently at the outer anchorage.
