Kenya's tea regulator said the east African country's average monthly tea production for October-December is expected to rise 10.3 percent over the same period in 2004.
A forecast from the Tea Board of Kenya said average monthly production for the October-December 2005 period will be 30.0 million kg, up from 27.2 million kg per month in the same period last year.
"With the onset of short rains in October, average monthly production for the October-December period is expected to improve significantly to about 30 million kg," TBK Managing Director Stephen Nakano told a news conference.
