Professional training of government servants would change the bureaucratic attitude as well as putting positive impact on their performance, productivity and quality of work.
Sardar Hassan Akhtar Mokal, Punjab Minister for Management and Professional Development Department (MPDD), stated this while addressing the concluding session of the training of Assistants of S&GAD arranged by the MPDD here on Tuesday.
He said that mostly departments never trained their officials due to which the positive change could not be brought in. "Its high time to take revolutionary steps in order to eliminate the negativity and lethargy involved with the image of traditional bureaucracy.
This objective could be obtained through conducting continuous and hectic training programmes for the officers," he added.
According to him, the government was providing all facilities to government departments for training their officials as well as officers to get maximum output. Six-week mandatory training course has also been made compulsory for the promotion of secretariat officials from Grade 16 to 17 while eight-week mandatory course for all the promotions from grade-17 to 20. MPDD was working as a think-tank of Punjab, for which all possible resources would be allocated.
Later, the minister distributed certificates among the participants of the training course.
