The Judge of Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) Faisalabad, Chaudhry Yousaf Ojla has sentenced to death two convicts involved in a quadruple murder case of Jaranwala, on four counts each.
According to the prosecution, the accused Umar Hayat and Muhammad Tahir of Chak 55-GB had shot dead one Azmaish Khan of the same village, and soon after also gunned down his relatives Maqsood Khan and Amanullah Khan who were present in the village chowk. They later searched out and shot dead Muhammad Ashfaq, brother of Azmaish Khan, who was sitting in a shop.
The killings were in connection to beating the accused by Azmaish and others, for passing remarks. The court today also directed the convicts to pay Rs two million as compensation to the dependents of the deceased, in addition to Rs two million fine.
They will have to undergo an additional imprisonment of two years if they fail to pay the fine. Similarly, they will have to undergo an additional two years' term in case of failure to pay compensation. The court declared Nawaz and Liaqat Ali, father and brother of convict Umar Hayat as proclaimed offenders.
