The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed deputy director FIA Faisalabad to appear before the court on October 13 in a petition filed by one Rehman Bibi for forfeiting her personal property.
The petitioner contended that her husband, who was a Patwari, was facing the charge of withdrawing millions of rupees from Zarai Tarqiati Bank of Pakistan through some fake passbooks in 2002.
The respondent bank approached the FIA and also forfeited her personal land measuring 126-kanal illegally and without lawful authority.
She also contended that the respondent FIA officials were also harassing and threatening her. She prayed to the court to direct the respondent officials to act in accordance with the law and abstain from harassing and threatening her.
She also prayed to the court to declare the action of the respondent to forfeit her personal property as illegal.
The court, after hearing the petitioner's counsel at length, issued notices to the respondents and rose for the day.
